Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence seeks members

The Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence is accepting applications for new members through June 16.


The Council provides direction to the governor and Legislature on statewide domestic violence policy and legislation, increases public awareness of the magnitude and seriousness of domestic violence, advocates changes in law enforcement procedure and increases access to legal and medical services to survivors in need.


The application is available at www.ag.stage.nv.us.


Deadline near on conservation program


Agricultural producers and landowners who want to enroll fragile cropland that is subject to erosion into the current Conservation Reserve Program are being given an extension to April 28. The original deadline was April 14.

Airport Authority meets tonight


The Carson City Airport Authority will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, 581 E. William St.


Scheduled topics include actions considering status of the master plan, deciding whether to use taxiway Charlie for aircraft alone or also to allow vehicle operations, and contracting leasing equipment and heavy maintenance contractors to perform landscaping maintenance on airport property.




Senior Follies ticket outlets announced


Tickets for the three performances of the "2006 Senior Follies," to be held June 2-4 may be purchased at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive; Maytan Music, 911 Topsy Lane, No. 110; Bank of the West, 2976 N. Emblem Club to hold 'After-Taxes' dinner


The Carson City Emblem Club No. 507 will host an "After-Taxes" dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St.
