Guest Instructor at Comma Coffee Salsa Dance


Ray Cammilleri and JoAnn Grace will host guest salsa instructor William Flanders of Mountain Salsa Dance at the Comma Coffee Salsa Night from 7-10 p.m. today at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St. At 8:30 p.m., the open dancing begins. Cost is $5 per person. Call 883-2662.


Parks and Rec meeting canceled


The Carson City Parks and Recreation meeting normally scheduled today has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. May 1.


Carson City Airport Authority to meet on Wednesday


The Carson City Airport Authority meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.


Topics scheduled include possible actions regarding the status of the master plan and airport layout plan, funding options to improve airport security, and protocol for authority signature on the planning commission permits directed to the planning commission but arising on the airport.


Human resources group to meet Thursday morning


Sierra Nevada Human Resources Association will meet 8 a.m. Thursday at the Casino Fandango, 3800 S. Carson St., in the buffet conference room. Networking begins at 7:30 a.m. Guest speaker is Christy Gillespie, of Greater Nevada Credit Union, will present "Diversity Training the Works for GNCU," and how you may utilize some of these resources to train your employees. Photographer to show outdoor works


There will be a showing of photographs by wilderness photographer and mountaineer Galen Rowell by his son, Tony Rowell, at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Patagonia Service Center, 8550 White Fir St. Tickets are $15. Galen and his wife, Barbara, died in a small plane crash in 2002.


The show will include many of Galen's greatest backcountry skiing adventures, by stories and slides from Tony's trips to Tibet, China, the Arctic Circle. He will also show images of his recent climbs of Mount Whitney and Mount Hood.

Sadie Hawkins Affair fundraiser to benefit Family Support Council


There will be a Sadie Hawkins Affair fundraiser for the Family Support Council by the Blue Thong Society at 5 p.m. Saturday at Sharkey's Casino in Gardnerville. Tickets are $25 each or $45 for two.
