A Carson City detective is calling a shed fire on April 12 arson.

Detective Dave Legros said the shed behind a home at 1400 N. Edmonds Dr. "exploded," about 7:10 p.m. when the homeowner was at work.

When firefighters arrived, they extinguished the blaze, but two sides of the shed were "blown" down.

"Someone poured gas in the rear of the shed, the gases in a confined area ignited and literally blew (the shed) up," he said.

The blaze was contained to the shed and no one was injured in the explosion.

Legros said a neighborhood dispute over parking appears to be the motive for the fire. He declined to name a suspect, but said the case was submitted to the Carson City District Attorney's Office for review.

Damages are estimated to exceed $3,000, Legros said.
