Senior menus

The following menus are for the week of May 1-5 and subject to change without notice. Choice of beverages is included with meals:

Carson City

The lunch menu for the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive:

Monday: Hamburger-and-cornbread pie, romaine salad with dressing, Tater Tots, mixed fruit Jell-O mold, cookie.

Tuesday: Sweet-and-sour chicken, brown rice, fresh spinach salad, whole- wheat bread, apple butter, granola bar.

Wednesday: Poached fish with pineapple salsa, coleslaw, peas and carrots, potato wedges, wheat rolls with cream cheese, pears.

Thursday: Swedish meatballs, sweet-and-our red cabbage, seasoned noodles, bran muffin w/margarine, mixed fruit.

Friday: Chicken fajita with red and green peppers, brown rice, refried beans, meatball soup, cake and ice cream.

Douglas County

The menu for the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane:

Monday: Spaghetti, green salad, winter-blend vegetables, garlic bead, spice cake.

Tuesday: Tuna casserole, cottage cheese w/peaches, green beans, seven-grain roll, lemon pudding.

Wednesday: Barbecued beef, potato wedges, spring-mix salad, country- blend vegetables, strawberries and banana ambrosia.

Thursday: Fried chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, applesauce, cookies.

Friday: Shredded-beef enchiladas, lettuce, tomato, refried beans, sour cream, cheese, salsa, sliced apple dessert.

Dayton

The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, beets, veggie salad, peaches.

Tuesday: Summer stew, mixed veggies, cornbread with butter, apple, cookie.

Wednesday: Roast turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, apricot-pineapple cobbler.

Thursday: French dip, mixed veggies, pasta salad, apple crisp.

Friday: Breakfast, 9-10 a.m. - Mexican scrambled eggs with pork, flour tortilla, fresh fruit, salsa, V8 and orange juice.

Silver Springs

The menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Way:

Monday: Turkey chili, mixed-green salad, fruit Ambrosia cornbread.

Tuesday: Spud stuffer with meat, sour cream, cheese sauce, broccoli, peaches.

Wednesday: Meatloaf, mixed veggies, mashed potatoes w/gravy, apricot-pineapple cobbler.

Thursday: Ravioli w/meat sauce, cauliflower, applesauce, Jell-O with fruit, garlic bread.

Friday: Pork tenderloin, Mexi-rice with tortilla, black beans, Mexi-vegetable salad, berry pie and ice cream.

Fernley

The menu for the Fernley Senior Center 1170 W. Newlands Dr:

Monday: Hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, cucumber, tomato, onion.

Tuesday: Beef stroganoff w/noodles, mandarin oranges, carrots, cookie.

Wednesday: Chili burger, fries, broccoli, peaches.

Thursday: Fish sticks, Tater Tots, coleslaw, blushing pears.

Friday: Tacos, Spanish rice, chips and salsa, applesauce.

Storey County

The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Chicken enchilada, salad, refried beans, rice, ice cream.

Tuesday: Chef salad, cottage cheese w/tomato, whole wheat roll, cookie.

Wednesday: Kathy's supreme pizza, corn, salad, fruit.

Thursday: Seafood chowder, egg salad sandwich, berries, vanilla yogurt, fruit juice.

Friday: Chili verde, tortilla, faux flan.
