Dennis "Shadow" Gieg, 61, a 31-year resident of Carson City, died April 22, 2006, in Carson City.
Mr. Gieg was born April 19, 1945, in San Francisco, Calif., to Furl V. Gieg and Thesea A. Stevens.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in California.
He graduated from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, Calif., in 1963.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth W. Gieg.
Among his survivors are his stepmother, Dorothy Gieg of Escondido, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Lawrence Eekhof of Brentwood, Calif.; three nieces, one nephew, four great-nephews, two-great nieces, and several aunts and uncles.
Cremation took place at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
