A funeral service for Evelyn Mary Allen and Barton Edward Allen, both 83 and 10-year Carson City residents, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the O'Brien-Rogers & Crosby Funeral Home, 600 W. Second St. in Reno. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Sierra Memorial Gardens.
The Allens died within hours of each other July 31, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
They were married 64 years and six days.
Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Hutchinson, Kan. Mr. Allen was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Iola, Kan.
Before moving to Northern Nevada in 1972, the Allens lived in Southern California.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker, and Mr. Allen was in the auto body repair and restoration industry.
Among their survivors are their sons and daughters-in-law Richard and June Allen and David and Millie Allen; daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Dan Archuleta and Patti and John Bulters; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
O'Brien-Rogers & Crosby Funeral Home in Reno is in charge of arrangements.
