A funeral service for Mildred Landers, 91, a 50-year Yerington area resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 600 N. Oregon St., in Yerington.

Mrs. Landers died July 29, 2006, at South Lyon Medical Center Long Term Care. She was born July 29, 1915, in Provo, Utah to Joseph and Mable Carpenter Lawhorn.

Before moving to Yerington, Mrs. Landers lived in Utah.

She worked for six years for the Anaconda Mine in the commissary at Weed Heights. She also worked for the U.S. Navy for more than six years at the Hawthorne Ammunition Depot assembling bombs.

She was a member of the AARP and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Jonne Leopolet, of Sun City, Ariz.; sisters Elizabeth Conner of South Jordan, Utah, and Stella Densley of Riverton, Utah; her friends Art and June Kraus of Yerington; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Yerington.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
