One person is dead following a house fire at 1191 Manhattan Way in the Gardnervill Ranchos at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Tom Mezetta.
The one fatality is believed to be the lone occupant of the house. However, the body has not been identified and no family has been notified, he said.
An explosion is said to have started the 9:30 p.m. fire. No other homes
were affected and no other injuries were reported.
