The Carson Valley Visitors Authority will host a tourism-branding workshop Tuesday and Wednesday at the Carson Valley Inn. Tourism marketing expert Roger Brooks will conduct the workshop.

Participants will learn about tourism branding and address common questions on how to conduct successful tourism marketing programs.

The workshop will include a look at local attractions, activities, amenities, ambiance and services that draw tourism to Carson Valley and how to ultimately increase tourism revenue.

Destination Development, Inc. of Olympia, Wash., has been retained by the Carson Valley Visitors Authority to conduct the workshop/seminar with local tourism-related businesses.

At 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, participants will learn about how tourism brands are developed, what they mean and view examples of successful branding programs in other tourism communities. Tuesday afternoon from 1-5 p.m. there will be a roundtable discussion, defining primary attractions and sub-brands. Roundtable brand discussions will continue 8 a.m.-noon Wednesday with next steps, key messages and projects to enhance brand.

The seminar is open to the public and is free of charge, courtesy of the Nevada Commission on Tourism.

Call the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority at 782-8144 or info@carsonvalleynv.org to reserve a seat. Space is limited.
