American Ready Mix has hired Debbie Shadaram as its controller. She comes from Printer Essentials, where she was also controller.


She has been in Reno for three years. She is president of the Washoe Zephyrs Chapter of American Business Women's Association and was chosen as their 2006-07 Woman of the Year.


Shelly Averill has been promoted to chief financial officer. She has been with American Ready Mix since April 2005 as controller.


She has 25 years' experience in accounting and finance. She is a member of the Nevada Society of CPAs and Western Industrial Nevada and a board member for the Preferred Builder Self-Insured Group.




GNCU adds two to management team


Greater Nevada Credit Union has added two people to its management team. Patty Hoffman will be vice president of operations. Before joining the credit union, she was the director of operations for Irwin Home Equity.


Anthony Rodriguez will manage the south Reno branch. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry with First Interstate Bank and Bank of America.




UNR to offer paralegal certification course


Extended Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno will offer a Paralegal Studies Certificate Program, a noncredit educational experience designed for working adults.


The 16-session program will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays Aug. 19-20 and 26-27, Sept. 9-1, Sept. 30-Oct.1, Oct. 78-, 21-22, Nov. 4-5 and 18-19.


Computer lab sessions will be held Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Nov. 18 at the university's Redfield Campus, 18600 Wedge Parkway.


All other sessions will be held at UNR's Continuing Education Building, 1041 N. Virginia St.




Lake Tahoe Mortgage Corp. hires Dufty as mortgage planner


The Lake Tahoe Mortgage Corp. has hired mortgage planner Natalie Dufty for mortgage planning services out of its Minden office.


As a planner, Dufty will meet with prospective home buyers in the Carson Valley and Lake Tahoe areas to help them choose the right home loan for their needs and provide customer service throughout the loan process. She has two years experience in mortgage planning and is also a licensed real estate agent at Coldwell Banker and is a member of the California Association of Realtors.
