Stanley Edward Kurczodyna

A graveside service for Stanley Edward Kurczodyna, 83, a 67-year Gardnerville resident, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Northern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Mr. Kurczodyna died Aug. 4, 2006, at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Evanston, Ill., to Louis and Franciska Kurczodyna.

Before moving to Gardnerville, Mr. Kurczodyna lived in Evanston.

He was a miner and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-45.

He was a life member and trustee of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8071 Virginia City, and a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie. He was a service officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years.

Among his survivors are his son, Stanley E. Kurczodyna of Minden and numerous children and grandchildren.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
