Virginia 'Ginny' Hynd

Virginia "Ginny" Hynd, 81, an eight-year Carson City resident, died Aug. 5, 2006, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Hynd was born March 17, 1925, in Belleville, Ill., to Emil Wedeking and Cora Balog.

She worked for the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Plant, retiring after 31 years.

She belonged to DOES and enjoyed golf, pinochle, bridge, bingo and reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband John "Scotty" Hynd and brothers Roland, Emil Jr. and Elmer Wedeking.

Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn and William Bunch of Carson City and Cora and W.L. Towe of Hawthorne; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Wendell Parks of Rhinebeck, N.Y.; aunt Frieda Lowery of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several extended family members.

Services are pending because she donated her body to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
