From educational scholarships to breast cancer to helping children who have brain tumors, this summer's golf tournaments are all about helping the community.
You don't have to golf to be involved in the following fundraisers. You or your company can sponsor a hole or send money to help with the causes. Since all of the golf tournaments are at different courses and include lunch, you can sign up for each one.
The Kerri Oxoby Memorial Scholarship tourney is the first week of September
Kerri was such beautiful person inside and out. With a single smile, she could light a room. She was brilliant in all aspects, and she still lights the way each year for others by providing scholarships at the University of Nevada, Reno for two Carson High School students.
Come join Steve, Shirley, Lindy and Jacob and all the family and friends at Empire Ranch. Following the tournament is a barbecue at the Oxoby home.

The sixth annual golf tournament to benefit The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation helps seriously ill young children who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor get financial and emotional support.
I cannot imagine being a mother and having to face such an emotionally draining prospect of your child having a brain tumor.
Julie Batchelder can tell you how it feels - hopeless. But she didn't feel bad for too long because she started this golf tournament to help other families' children.

The fifth annual Stroke to Help Fight Breast Cancer golf tournament is being sponsored by Great Basin Imaging.
This day is a celebration of life for the many women who Soroptimist International has helped - from receiving a mammogram to purchasing medication.
Dixie Busch directs this fundraiser, and her amazing effort comes from her personal experience with breast cancer. Take a moment to think how many people you know who have been directly touched by this disease.

When: Sept. 30. Check-in at 8 a.m., shotgun start at 9 a.m.
