Open Dance Night at Comma Coffee

Registration for latch key open


Registration for before-school, after-school, kinder and middle school latch key is open. Enrollment is limited. Costs are $17 per week per child for before-school latch key, $33 per child per week for after-school latch key, $40 per week per child for kinder latch key and $40 per week per child for the middle school program. Bingo at Corpus Christi this weekend


The St. Benedict Society of Corpus Christi Catholic Church will hold an afternoon of bingo starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 5335 Snyder Ave.


Doors open at 11 a.m. Early-bird bingo starts at 11:30 a.m. with regular bingo from 12:15 to 2:30 p.m. Bingo players must be 21 or older. Call 882-1967.

'Havens in a Heartless World' to show in Virginia City


"Havens in a Heartless World," an exhibit demonstrating saloon and Wild West archeology, will be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Sunday at the Comstock History Center at 20 N. Reno


Driver's Edge youth driver program comes to Reno


The nationally recognized Driver's Edge young driver training program will be in the Reno area Thursday through Sunday at the Washoe County Regional Training Facility, 5190 Spectrum Blvd. There are two sessions each day, one at 8 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. More than 1,000 young drivers and their parents can attend this free program, which was started to address the growing number of youth-related auto collisions and fatalities. Drivers aged 15 to 21 with a valid learner's permit or license may register for the program by calling 1 (877) 633-EDGE or www.driversedge.org.




Local musician to entertain at campfire


Popular local musician Wayne Ferguson will entertain participants in a free family campfire program at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Galena Creek Regional Park. Call 849-2511.




Get a first look at a new regional park


There will be a free "Discover Your Parklands" hike to the site of the new Sun Valley Regional Park at 7 p.m. Thursday. Participants will meet at Bennett Elementary School, 5900 Sidchill Drive, and should wear sturdy walking shoes and bring water. Call 424-1866.
