Maleta 'Skip' Boone

Maleta "Skip" Boone, 92, a six-year Winnemucca resident, died Aug. 8, 2006, at Battle Mountain General Hospital.

She was born Feb. 20, 1914, in Three Oaks, Mich., to Grover and Lula Gridley.

She married Robert Boone in 1952 in Biloxi, Miss.

Before moving to Winnemucca, she lived on Kingsbury Grade at Stateline.

She was preceded in death by her husband,; two sisters and three brothers.

Among her survivors are her son, Gene Drake; sister Margie Sherer of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; granddaughter, Valerie Drake of Winnemucca; and grandson. Gene Drake.

A service will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Albertson Funeral Home in Winnemucca.

Albertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
