Bowman helps lead club to title

Dayton's Matt Bowman, who will be a junior outfielder/infielder for the University of Nevada baseball team helped lead the Santa Barbara Foresters to the National Baseball Congress championship this past weekend in Wichita, Kan.

The Foresters went 7-0 in the tournament and beat the Derby Twins 8-7 in the title game. Bowman started all seven games during the tournament in left field and finished the championship game at second base.

He went 0-for-3 in the championship game, but scored two runs. Bowman batted .269 (7-for-26) in the tournament with a home run, six RBI and seven runs scored. He batted .376 with the Wolf Pack last season.
