A funeral for Lewis Rosenberg, 68, a Carson City resident since 1978, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mr. Rosenberg died Aug. 15, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Feb. 27, 1938, in New York City to Irving Rosenberg and Kathryn Schwartz.

He married Mildred Schapiro on April 23, 1967, in Huntington, N.Y.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Rosenberg lived in Pomona, N.Y.

He was the former Central Committee chairman for the Carson City Democratic Party and belonged to the Vietnam Veterans Association.

He was employed by the State of Nevada for several years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.

He was a member of the Temple Batyam in South Lake Tahoe and a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Among his survivors are his mother of Carson City; wife of Carson City; son, David Rosenberg of Sparks; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Keith Ouellette of Carson City; brother Michael Rosenberg of San Jose, Calif.; and granddaughter Alecia Ouellette of Carson City.

Burial will take place at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

Memorial donations may be made to the United Jewish Communities or the Israel Emergency Campaign, P.O. Box 30, Old Chelsea Station, New York, NY, 10113.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
