A funeral Mass for Art Peltier, 61, a five-year Carson City resident, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. A viewing will be 5 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Peltier died Aug. 14, 2006. He was born May 30, 1945, in Detroit to Howard and Rose Peltier.
He married Pat Wheeler on Aug. 30, 1969, in Susquehanna, Pa.
He received his bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He later received his master's from Arizona State University.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Peltier lived in Harrisburg, Pa.
He was vice president of engineering at Polyphaser in Minden.
Mr. Peltier had served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineering and of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. He coached soccer and was a registered soccer referee. He was a junior achievement mentor.
He enjoyed studying astronomy and foreign languages, biking, skiing, swimming, playing guitar, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother John Peltier in 1986.
Among his survivors are his wife Pat Peltier of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Ania Peltier of Dayton, Ohio; daughters Michelle C. Peltier of Carson City and Jeni Peltier of Whitsett, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law Susan and James Brougher of Tucker, Ga.; sister Ellie Peltier of Newport Beach, Calif.; and two grandsons.
