Frank C. Saunders, 85, an 18-year Genoa resident, died Aug. 15, 2006.
Mr. Saunders was born April 2, 1921, in Foster, Wash., to Bertrand and Irene Saunders.
Before moving to Genoa, Mr. Saunders lived in Oakland, Calif., for 25 years.
He worked in sheet metal and as a manufacturer's representative.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942-45.
He was a member of the Oakland Chinese Golf Club.
He enjoyed poetry, opera, learning and nature.
Among his survivors are his wife of 64 years, Rosalie Saunders; daughter Rosalee Jo Saunders of Alameda, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Robyn Jo Saunders and Patrick Sweeny of Gardnerville; and granddaughter Cori Schmitt and her husband, Henry, of San Leandro, Calif.
