A memorial service for Douglas Lloyd Gardner, 45, a 12-year Glendora, Calif., resident, will be noon Friday at the American Legion Yacht Club in Newport Beach, Calif.

Mr. Gardner died Aug. 18, 2006, in Glenbrook in a motorcycle accident.

He was born April 21, 1961, in Irvine, Calif., to Layton and Colette Gardner.

He married Kathy Knoer on Sept. 4, 1999, in San Diego.

Before moving to Glendora, Mr. Gardner lived in Cincinnati.

He received a master's degree in finance from University of California, Los Angeles in 1986 and an undergraduate degree at California Polytechnic University, Pomona in mechanical engineering in 1983.

He was an insurance agent.

He volunteered for the National Ski Patrol and worked at Incline Village.

He was preceded in death by his father in Newport Beach.

Among his survivors are his mother; wife; and brother, Donald Gardner.
