RE/MAX Gardnerville recognized as leader


RE/MAX International has recognized the Gardnerville Re/Max Realty Affiliates as the leading agency in its Southwest region.


For 10 of the last 11 years, the office has been leading the region in volume in the small-market office division. In 2005, the 43-associate office closed approximately 850 transactions, with sales volume of $405 million.


The office will be showcased to more than 120,000 agents worldwide on the RE/MAX Satellite Network.




Elliott named NCED marketing director


Kimberly Elliott has been named marketing director for the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.


She previously served as prospect manager for the agency and was on the front line for business relocation and expansion calls.


Elliott will be planning, directing, and implementing NCED's marketing communications activities for print and electronic media.


She will produce in-house and work with contracted firms to produce public relations materials, advertising and marketing collateral.


Same-store sales for Gottschalks decrease


Gottschalks Inc. (NYSE: GOT) has announced that same-store sales for the month of August 2006 decreased 1.1 percent from the prior year.


Total sales for the month decreased 4.3 percent to $47.3 million compared to total sales of $49.6 million in August of 2006.


Total sales for August 2005 included sales from three stores which were subsequently closed and also reflected the grand opening of Gottschalks' River Park lifestyle center store.


For the year-to-date period, same-store sales decreased slightly by 0.1 percent, while total sales decreased 0.3 percent to $344.2 million from $345.3 million for the same period last year.
