A fire is burning in Jumbo Grade, off Eastlake Boulevard in Washoe Valley. The fire started around 4:30 this afternoon and has burned about 15 acres of sagebrush and pinon pine in the lower Jumbo Grade area, near the trailhead.

No structures are immediately threatened, but there are homes at the base of the canyon.

Four air tankers, two hand crews, two helicopters, one dozer, five engines, one water tender, four command staff, and 70 personnel are battling the blaze.

The cause is under investigation.
