A memorial service for Velma May Langdon, 89, a 17-year Minden resident, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Douglas County Mortuary, 1478 Fourth St. in Minden.

Mrs. Langdon died Nov. 12, 2006, in Carson City. She was born April 22, 1917, in Terlton, Okla., to Walter and Icie Kaufman.

Before moving to Minden, Mrs. Langdon lived in California.

She was a homemaker, and taught classes in color and flower arrangement.

She was involved with the Christmas Bazaar for 25 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. They walked the Great Wall of China for their 50th wedding anniversary. She also enjoyed knitting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Langdon, in 1992 and by son Charles Langdon in 1958.

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Tom and Carole Langdon of San Jose, Calif.; grandchildren Scott, Marci, Darla and Dorothy and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
