A memorial service for Joyce Everest, 83, a five-year Carson City resident, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Unity of Reno, 2207 Kings Row in Reno.
Mrs. Everest died Dec. 1, 2006, at her home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Oakland, Calif., to Preston and Barbara Shearer Funkhouser.
She married George Everest on July 24, 1948.
Mrs. Everest belonged to the Unity Church of Today in Minden.
She was a teacher for the Washoe County School District and had retired.
She was preceded in death by sister Merla Hale and by brothers Preston and John Funkhouser.
Among her survivors are her husband; sons Russell and Ethan Everest; daughter, Elaine Dodd; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
