One killed in rollover accident on State Road 341

Chaz Ryan O'Neil, 18, of Reno, was killed in a one-car accident at 11:30 p.m. Friday on State Road 341 near the junction with Highway 395.

The two-door BMW driven by a 17-year-old male was traveling northbound when the car drifted off the road to the right. The vehicle overturned multiple times, ejecting the driver and the passenger, both of Reno.

They were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center, where O'Neil later died of his injuries. The driver's condition was unknown at press time.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the accident, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
