Robert Anderson Puryear, 94, of Carson City, died Dec. 6, 2006, at his home.

He was born July 13, 1912, in San Francisco to James Robert and Eva Raymond Puryear.

His mother was a Wabuska native and his father was from Ruth.

Mr. Puryear worked in the Liberty copper pit in Ruth, as a bartender in the Reno-Tahoe area, and for the U.S. Forest Service.

He was preceded in death by his sister Janice Simon; brother James "Bud" Puryear of Reno; and three infant brothers.

Among his survivors are his brother John Puryear of Santa Maria, Calf.; sisters Margaret Spencer of Lovelock and Virginia Oas of Minden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Puryear donated his remains to the University of Nevada Medical School.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
