Dance lessons being offered to seniors


Seniors are welcome to join other seniors at World Gym for dance lessons at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday.


There is a fee for each class.

Library to hold holiday celebration for kids


Carson City's Library Youth Department will hold a holiday celebration 7 p.m. Tuesday in the youth section. There will be cocoa, carols and Christmas tales.


Children are invited to wear pajamas for a cozy storytime.

NARFE to meet Tuesday for holiday


NARFE Chapter 1329 will meet at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at Grandma Hattie's, 2811 S. Carson St.


Cake and ice cream will be provided to celebrate the Christmas season.


Recently elected chapter officers will be sworn in for 2007.


All retired and active federal employees are cordially invited to attend.

Daughters of Norway to hold Christmas celebration Thursday


The Daughters of Norway Queen Maud Lodge No. 42 will meet 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Family Church, corner of Highway 50 East at Saliman Road.


They will offer a smorgasbord and Santa's visit with the children, and will sing and dance around the Christmas tree.


An exchange of gifts valued at no more than $10 each will end the evening. Guests are welcome.


Women are invited to join the lodge who are of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, or Icelandic heritage or who are married or have been married to someone of that heritage.

Pioneer Family Dance planned to celebrate the New Year


Pioneer Family Dance contra dance will hold its annual New Year's Eve Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31 at the Brewery Arts Center Ballroom.


Cost is $15 for adults, $12 in advance at www.nevadamusic.com. Children are $6.

Children's Museum to celebrate New Year's with teen ball


The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada will be holding a Teen New Year's Ball from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at the museum.
