Louis Elmer Fleager, 89, a 25-year Lyon County resident, died Dec. 15, 2006, at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington.

Mr. Fleager was born Aug. 24, 1917, in LaCenter, Wash., to Elmer Fleager and Rose (Sutton) Fleager.

He owned a trucking business for many years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He enjoyed making wood clocks and canning garlic.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Grace Fleager, in 2001; and son, Gary Fleager.

Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law Roxanne and James Megowan and Bernadine and Joseph Elmore; three grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

At Mr. Fleager's request, no memorial services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Cremation will take place at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
