Richard Joseph Calvet, 84, a nine-year Carson City resident, died Dec. 17, 2006, in Carson City.
Mr. Calvet was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Albert P. Calvet and Maria Velasco.
He married Mary Townley on Oct. 21, 1950, in Pasadena, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Calvet lived in Bonita, Calif.
He attended the University of Southern California, and graduated from Loyola Marymount.
He owned Calvet Rental and Simi U-Rent in Simi Valley, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Carson City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and daughters Connie and Monica Calvet.
Among his survivors are his sons David Calvet of Chicago, Mark Calvet of Carson City, Tom Calvet of Gardena, Calif., and John Calvet of Stagecoach; daughters Cathy Haskins, Lori Haskins and Polly Mills, all of Carson City, and Rita Rotondo of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; sister, Marie Mushrush; brothers Al Calvet of San Clemente, Calif., and Francis Calvet of Dana Pointe, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.
A memorial service was held Dec. 19 at the First Christian Church, with Dr. Ken Haskins officiating.
