Singles to hold end of year festivities


Nevada Singles will be holding a potluck, poker and bingo party at 5 p.m. Dec. 30. There will also be a New Years Eve party at 8 p.m. Sunday. Snacks and beverages are needed. Those interested in attending either event should call 882-0504 for information and directions.




Adult day center celebrates one year


Share the Day Adult Day Center will be celebrating its one-year anniversary with an open house and refreshments from 3-5 p.m. Dec. 29 at its location inside the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive. Call 284-5505.




Pioneer Family Dance to be held for New Year's


Pioneer Family Dance contra dance will hold its annual New Year's Eve Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31 at the Brewery Arts Center Ballroom, 449 W. King St. Cost is $15 for adults, $12 in advance at www.nevadamusic.com. Children are $6. Call 883-9351.


Children's Museum plans Teen Ball


The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada will be holding a Teen New Year's Ball from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at the museum. Cost is $20 per person or $30 per couple. Free RIDE service on New Year's Eve


In an effort to curb drinking and driving, RTC is offering free service on 17 of it's most popular routes from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. New Years Eve. This service is only available within the Reno area. Call 348-RIDE.




Lou Gramm plays New Year's Eve


Lou Gramm will bring a dynamic live show at the Eldorado Hotel Casino Showroom on Dec. 30- 31.


Gramm, originally from Foreigner, has assembled a new band which features his brothers, Richard Grammatico on bass and guitar and Ben Grammatico on drums. Also on board is guitarist Don Mancuso and keyboardist Andy Knoll.


Gramm appears in the Eldorado Showroom for a special New Year's engagement. Show times are 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $100, $70, $65 and $60. $100 ticket price includes Champagne toast. Call (800) 648-5966 or 786-5700 in Nevada.

Marcia Ball to ring in New Year


Grammy-nominated vocalist Marcia Ball will perform at 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve at the Crystal Bay Casino, 14 Highway 28. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door at www.crystalbaycasino.com.


For more than 30 years, Ball has been delivering her signature brand of Texas blues, Louisiana R&B and Gulf Coast swamp pop to audiences all over the world.
