A memorial service for Arlene Bechtel, 71, a Gardnerville resident since 1988, will be 2 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Genoa Community Church.
Mrs. Bechtel died Dec. 20, 2006, following an illness. She was born Aug. 24, 1935, in Detroit, to Kenneth A. and Joan L. Duffy.
She married Ray Bechtel on Oct. 22, 1955, in Kingman, Ariz.
She was a member of the Genoa Community Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening.
Among her survivors are her husband of 51 years; brothers Charles Duffy of Angels Camp, Calif., and Neal Duffy of Banning, Calif., and sister Carol Miller of Riverside, Calif.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
