It's time to sign up for spring classes at WNCC

Registration is open for spring semester classes at Western Nevada Community College, offering students the chance to increase their knowledge of more than 1,000 different subjects.

Classes begin Jan. 22 at WNCC's three campuses and five learning centers. Among the offerings this semester are bookkeeping I, introduction to elementary education and introductory physics. All cost less than $200.

Other class subjects and possible career paths include anthropology, art, astronomy, automotive mechanics, biology, business, chemistry, computers, construction, criminal justice, dance, drafting, early-childhood education, economics, emergency medical services, engineering, finance, geography, geology, graphic communications, health information technology, law, marketing, nursing, political science, psychology, real estate and surgical technology.

WNCC offers nearly 50 degrees and certificates, specialized training programs, transfer courses and community education classes.

Registration continues through the first week of classes. However, students are encouraged to enroll as early as possible to reserve the courses they needed to fit their schedules.

Jump on JAC

Spring semester bus passes for Jump Around Carson, the city's transit service, are being sold at the WNCC Bookstore. Passes cost $75 for students, staff and faculty, and allow for unlimited rides on JAC. Monthly passes and 10-ride punch cards are also available.
