A funeral for Ruth Pell, 86, a 42-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. today at Walton's.
Mrs. Pell died Dec. 27, 2006, in Carson City. She was born June 5, 1920, in St. Louis, to Edward and Martha Kauffman.
She married Kenneth "Bill" Pell on Oct. 16, 1939, in Paducah, Ky.
She was a proofreader for the Nevada Legislative Council Bureau.
She enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brother James Kauffman, and granddaughter Amanda Crawford.
Among her survivors are daughter Sandy Hallowell of Carson City; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Jim Crawford of Carson City, Gwen and Brad Wilson of Tracy, Calif., and Emma and Guy Nichols of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Colleen Pell of Phoenix; sisters Joan Baker and Mary Hosier, both of Anderson, Ind., and Nancy Wisner of Nobelsville, Ind.; brothers Eugene Kauffman of Anderson, and Robert Kauffman of Florida; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Nevada Services for the Blind.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
