Carson City's Tori McBride and her dog, Polo, will be making their second trip to the Westminster Dog Show, considered the most prestigious competition for show dogs.

The event will be held Monday, Feb. 13 and Tuesday, Feb. 14 at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

McBride, who owns All-American Dog Grooming in Carson City, is the owner of Polo, a 4 1/2-year-old light silver American cocker spaniel. Polo will compete in the sporting class and will be handled by Jan Bruni of Oroville, Calif.

The sporting class competition will be held on Tuesday. USA Network will televise the event each night from 8-11 p.m.

The winner of each class will advance to the finals where the Best of Show Dog, the overall winner, will be chosen on Tuesday night. There are 2,500 dogs entered in the competition.

Polo received an award of merit in last year's event. McBride said that this will be Polo's last show.
