The annual father-daughter Girl Scout dance took place in January at Fuji Park.

This year's theme was "Princess and Her Knight." More than 200 Princess Girl Scouts and their "knight" fathers danced for two hours and enjoyed a wonderful evening. A tiara was given away as a grand prize, and photos were taken with a great castle backdrop borrowed from Bordewich-Bray Elementary School's PTA - thanks! Punch flowed from a silver fountain, and chocolates were presented on silver trays and cupcakes on a tiered display.

A red carpet adorned the entryway and crowns, jewels and roses decorated the tables and were parting gifts for each princess.

Troop 176 hosted the dance this year and would like to thank the following local businesses that made donations for the dance and helped to make it a very special evening.

Thanks to Mission Industries, Raley's, Smith's and Safeway for their contributions. Food donations from each Albertsons, each Subway, Sub Factory and Gino's were outstanding. Both local Wal-Marts and Costco came through with donations that helped really deck out Fuji Hall and provided them with sweet treats. The Greenhouse Garden Center loaned about 16 fabulous topiaries, which looked fantastic.

We would like to thank all of those who helped in our community. Without their support, dances like these would not be possible.

Side note: Look for your local Girl Scouts door-to-door, selling cookies this month and then at local stores for booth sales throughout most of March.
