Jordan Stokes scored 28 points to lead the Dayton High boys basketball team to a 68-54 win at North Tahoe on Wednesday.

Dayton stayed in first in the Northern 3A with the win, improving to 12-2 in league play. Sparks was 11-3 in league heading into its game on Wednesday against Truckee.

The Dust Devils will host North Tahoe on Friday and play at Truckee on Saturday. With wins in those games, Dayton would clinch the No. 1 seed in the Northern 3A playoffs to be held next Friday and Saturday in Winnemucca.

Despite the win, Dayton coach T.W. Cunningham said he would like to see more consistency from his team offensively and defensively. Dayton jumped out to an 18-8 lead, but North Tahoe came back to cut the deficit to 31-28 at halftime.

The Dust Devils pulled away when they outscored North Tahoe 18-11 in the fourth quarter. Shane Castro added 12 points for Dayton.

"At times we played very good defense," Cunningham said. " We made runs and especially the fourth quarter was a lot better."
