An accident involving two cars sent six people to the hospital and backed up traffic for more than an hour on Kingsbury Grade.

The names of the injured weren't available by press time.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Paul Morris said five people were in a green Honda Civic, and one male, who was in an Acura Legend, was taken by Care Flight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center in Reno.

The Civic was attempting to make a left turn on North Benjamin Road when it collided with the Legend traveling west on Kingsbury Grade around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Morris said.

The airbags of the driver and passenger went off in the Civic. The Legend didn't have an airbag.
