A commercial real estate services company plans to construct two large buildings on 47 acres it purchased in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, 10 miles east of Sparks on Interstate 80.
Trammell Crow company, of Reno, will construct the buildings: one 550,000 square feet and the other 375,000 square feet. The buildings will be rented, but leases have not been signed yet.
"We believe strongly in the future of development in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center," said Par Tolles, of the Trammell Crow office in Reno. "With so much to offer, and with all the amenities and infrastructure in place, we call it the Disneyland of all developments."
Construction is scheduled to begin in March. It is along USA Parkway, a four-lane expressway that will one day connect Interstate 80 with Highway 50.
The Trammell Crow property at TRI will add to the more than 530 million square feet of managed and/or leased commercial real estate Trammell Crow has across the country.
Trammell Crow started the company 57 years ago, and it has had an office in Reno since 1983.
