Historic Preservation Office opens new office in Vegas

The Nevada State Historic Preservation Office has opened a new Southern Nevada office in Las Vegas. The new office is housed at the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society, Las Vegas, in Lorenzi Park.

Sali Underwood, an archeologist who studied at UC Santa Barbara and UNLV, has been hired to staff the office. She has worked throughout the southwest, and for the past four years has operated a lab for the Springs Preserve of the Last Vegas Valley Water District. She has experience in historic and prehistoric archeology.

The State Historic Preservation Office is an agency of the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs. It offers Nevada Citizens and visitors cultural and information management, presentation and promotion of cultural resources, and education.
