'06 Who's Who honors 40 WNCC students

The 2006 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges includes the names of 40 students from Western Nevada Community College who have been selected as national outstanding campus leaders.

Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory have included the names of these students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

They join an elite group of students from more than 1,000 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.

Students named this year from Western Nevada Community College are:

Carson City: Brenda Bell, Debbie Bush, Jeannine Counsil, Charles Delavega, Agatha Gentile, Heather Gordon, Mark Green, Nicholas Halen, Erica Hall, Bard Harger, Daniel Heiderman, Tara Inch, Marianne Lockyer, Dennis Mankel, Tawnya McDowell, Diane Morgan and Cynthia Nurenberg

Dayton: Mary Comeau, Melinda Lang Brawner and Abigail Lupena

Fallon: Donald Barker, Kelly Blais, Jennifer Bodine, Joshua Johnson, Gina Latta, Nancy Miller and Shawn Mitchell

Fernley: Trever Crow and Diane Dahnert

Western Nevada Community College serves more than 6,000 Nevadans each semester and is a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
