Kop a National Merit Scholarship finalist

Carson High School senior Bud Kop was recently named as a National Merit Scholarship finalist.

Less than one percent of U.S. seniors qualify for the award. Kop's selection qualifies him for one of 8,000 nationwide scholarships offered by states, corporations and colleges. Kop is a defender for the regular season league champion Carson Senator inline hockey team and was also the goalie for the CHS boys soccer team. Kop plans on majoring in engineering in college.
