The Nevada Department of Wildlife is encouraging hunters to go online to check their hunter education records to ensure that records are in order before applying for big game tags and licenses.

'Awareness through Movement' class starts

Awareness through Movement lessons in the Feldenkrais method will be taught by certified practitioner Anne Pavlisin, from 4 to 5 p.m. beginning Wednesday at the Sun Mountain Yoga Studio in Carson City.

The movie "Duke of Earl" will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Solid Rock Cafe, 264 West Winnie Lane.

Church youth host pancake breakfast

A community pancake breakfast sponsored by First Presbyterian Church Youth will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Free 'Discover SCUBA' event at Carson pool

The High Desert Divers Dive Club, along with Strictly SCUBA Dive & Snorkel Center, will be sponsoring a free "Discover SCUBA" event for people who would like to try SCUBA diving in the pool. Participants must be at least 8 years old and in good health. Anyone under 18 must have all forms signed by a parent or guardian, and anyone under 12 must have their parent or guardian present during the activity.

This event will be at the Carson Aquatic Facility. Appointments will be scheduled between 12:30 and 3 p.m. For information or to schedule an appointment, call 884-3483.

BAC brings Industrial Jazz Group to Carson

The Brewery Arts Center presents the Industrial Jazz Group at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the BAC Performance Hall, 511 W. King St. Tickets are $15 general and $12 for BAC members, seniors, and students.

Agency for Toxic Substances holds public availability meeting

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry will host a public availability session Wednesday in Yerington to discuss the findings and recommendations of the recently published public health consultation of the Anaconda Mine Site.

The meeting is from 6:30-8 30 p.m. at the Yerington Paiute Tribal Office Gymnasium.
