Carson City investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying three suspects who left a man bloodied and unconscious near Wal-Mart early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Bob White said deputies were called to the 3200 block of Market Street at 12:43 a.m. after someone spotted a man "face down in blood" on Retail Road. The road, which is under construction, will lead to Wal-Mart from Roop Street.

The caller reported seeing the man surrounded by three hooded men who fled toward the Catalina Apartment complex on Hot Springs Road and Roop Street.

Medics found the dark-haired victim unconscious and his head covered in blood. White said the man suffered a punctured lung and a broken rib, among other injuries.

He had no identification on him and has not regained consciousness since being discovered, White said Tuesday morning. By the afternoon, the victim was identified as Michael Hamilton, 28, of Carson City.

Hamilton was taken by helicopter to Washoe Medical Center, where he was reported to be in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

White said there is a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.

The three suspects were described as wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Department's Detective Division at 887-2020 ext. 1400 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
