Crime Report

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Catherine McChesney, 26, an unemployed transient, was arrested 7:56 a.m. Monday at Carson and Washington streets on suspicion of felony possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle. Bail was set at $3,500. The driver of the vehicle, of which McChesney was a passenger, was charged with misdemeanor suspended license, fictitious registration and no valid driver's license.

• Christopher Irvin, 25, an unemployed Dayton man, was arrested 1:21 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of felony probation violation, misdemeanor contempt of court and misdemeanor obstructing an officer. No bail was set.

• A 39-year-old Carson City framer was arrested 6:54 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of David Street on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail was set at $3,000.

• A 24-year-old Carson City employee for the Nevada Department of Transportation was arrested 11:37 p.m. Monday on Lloyd's Bridge on River Road for misdemeanor driving under the influence and misdemeanor open container. Two open cans of Milwaukee's Best Ice were in the console, according to the report.

• The fire department responded to a call of an electrical problem at Hollywood Video in South Carson City at 12:20 p.m. The department shut down the main electrical panel because of two shorted and overheating circuit breakers. The power was turned off until repairs could be made by a licensed electrician.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Monday:

• A Lockwood woman with arthritis needed help lighting the pilot light after her gas was turned back on at 8:39 a.m.

• A false alarm was reported at 10:20 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary's in Virginia City.

• A vehicle was stranded in the 100 block of Roughing It Road in Virginia City at 12:04 p.m.

• A driver was warned about reckless driving at 12:07 p.m. in the 40 block of A Street after a fireman was nearly run over.

• An officer responded to a 1:25 p.m. call from D Street about a stuck vehicle.

• An officer responded to a 1:42 p.m. call from P Street about a stuck vehicle.

• A power pole with a blown fuse on Stewart Street was reported at 1:57 p.m. Sierra Pacific was notified.

• A downed power line was reported at D and Taylor Streets at 5:36 p.m.

• Power was reported down at the water treatment plant at 6:59 p.m.
