Laurel O'Brien-Shaw

Laurel O'Brien-Shaw, 49, a Carson City resident for 19 years, died Jan. 1, 2006. She was born Jan. 8, 1956, in Burbank, Calif., to Edward J. and Jean O'Brien.

She married Leon A. Shaw on April 7, 2001, in Death Valley, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Bridgeport, Calif.

She enjoyed camping, the blues and spending time with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; sisters Tara O'Brien of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Mary Shaw, of Carson City; and nephews Cody, Oliver, Joseph, Demetrius and Albertico.
