Charles Delno 'Bud' McKenzie Jr.

A celebration of life for Charles Delno "Bud" McKenzie Jr., 76, of Fallon, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elks Lodge, 93 W. Center St., Fallon.

Mr. McKenzie died Jan. 3, 2006, of a heart attack. He was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Peoria, Ill., to Charles Delno Sr. and Betty N. Schrodt McKenzie.

He married Lois Hayward in 1951.

He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 30 years. After leaving the railroad, he became a general contractor. He served in the 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions in the U.S. Army.

He enjoyed sports, jokes, and his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Charletha Hughes.

Among his survivors are Francell Keene; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mike Harrigan of Verdi; son and daughter-in-law, Ernie and Deena McKenzie of Carson City; six grandchildren; and stepdaughter and husband Holly and Jim Cork and their three children.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Churchill County High School Athletic Department, 1222 S. Taylor St., Fallon, NV 89406.

The Gardens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
