Locals shine for Wild ice hockey

Minden's Devin Hotho scored four goals over the weekend for the High Sierra Wild Youth Pee Wee ice hockey team against the San Francisco Sabercats and the Stockton Colts in California.

Hotho scored two goals ina 3-1 win over a physical Stockton team. South Tahoe's Scott Vogelgesang scored the other goal. Sparks' G. Mier y Teran played well at goalie in posting the win.

Carson City's D.J. Freeman and Reno' Pete Marshall also played well. Carson City's Jose Lee returned to action after being out for three weeks with a broken wrist.

High Sierra lost 6-2 loss against the Sabercats. Hotho scored both goals. Freeman and Verdi's Edward Kaufer also played well.

The Wild will next play Feb. 4 and 5 against the Tri Valley North Stars of Vacaville, Calif., at South Tahoe.
