The strong winds blowing for most of the day Wednesday were expected to die down overnight, leading to partly cloudy skies and light winds for today and Friday.


Gusts hit 32 mph early Wednesday morning, and south-southwest winds of 15 mph were present in the city for most of the day, according to carsonweather.com.


The National Weather Service is predicting the temperatures to be in the low 50s today dropping down to the high 20s overnight. Friday brings steady south winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and temperatures in the high 50s. Friday night is expected to have lows in the mid-30s and a chance of snow above 6,500 feet.
