A celebration of life for Carole Ann Spaltro, 69, of Carson City, will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Spaltro died Jan. 13, 2006 in Reno. She was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Portland, Maine, to Martin and Cecile Le Clerc Spaltro.

She was a registered nurse and retired from the Carson City School District in 2001. She was a part-time instructor at Western Nevada Community College and pioneered the New Horizons program in Carson City, dedicated to helping young mothers complete their high school diplomas.

She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, traveling, fishing, camping, rock hounding, attending plays, music and hiking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Julius Spaltro, and grandson Samuel Tanner.

Among her survivors are her longtime companion Gary Hart of Carson City; daughters Kathleen McNulty of Chicago, Danielle Bolduc of California and Renee Tanner of Twinsburg, Ohio; sons Jeffrey Bolduc and Christopher Bolduc both of Las Vegas; brother George Spaltro of Corona, Calif.; sisters Claire Panagakos and Mary Lou Bagley of Portland, Maine; four granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
