A funeral service for Elaine Carolyn Perryman Kruse, 69, will be held at noon Wednesday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kruse died Jan. 12, 2006 of complications related to diabetes. She was born May 3, 1936, in Chicago, to Edna and Henry Perryman.
She dropped out of high school but went to night school to obtain her diploma.
Mrs. Kruse was an antique dealer, later founding the Antiques Today newspaper.
She was a graduate of the first Sheriff's School for Seniors class.
She was a member of Carson Valley Republican Women's group, past president of both VFW and LAFRA, a volunteer for committees involving the Indian Hills GID, was an ADA access advocate, fighting for equal access for disabled individuals, and a vocal supporter for community and state issues.
She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Perryman and her daughter Kathy.
Among her survivors are husband, Ron; son Thomas; daughter Laurel Arett; niece Debbie Kozuch and nephew Rick Perryman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
